Welcome to our PTFA Home page! We have links from here to our Constitution which is the corner stone from which we operate. We are a small group of teachers, parents and friends of the school who come together for monthly meetings to organise fundraising events for our school to help raise as much money as possible. These funds are vital and our main focus currently is the raising of funds for our children to benefit from an ambitious but crucial upgrading of their ICT equipment.

Please see our fund-o-meter both on the website and in school itself to see how we are doing with this!

We are supported by wonderful members, teachers, parents and friends of the school who come along to our relaxed meetings that take place in the conference room at Westerton Primary Academy on the first Thursday of each month. Everyone involved in the school that has an interest in discussing how we can best raise money for the school whilst ensuring that we are also putting on enjoyable and exciting events for our children and adults alike are welcome!

What events do the PTFA do?

Currently, we have some very successful staple events that we repeat each year.

We start the academic year with a Monsters Ball, complete with our own bar, hotdogs, sweets, toys, games and a disco.

Before we know it, we are then on with planning our Christmas Market! We became a little more adventurous in 2017 and organised a market as opposed to the fayre which we have also successfully done in our previous years. The market was an absolute hit! We had stalls, games, prosecco bar, mulled wine, a hog roast, choirs, a brass band and of course we were also extremely excited and fortunate to receive a visit from the wonderful Santa Clause himself!

We have a slight rest over the Christmas break and then we are back at it in early January, this time planning the Easter Fayre. This is a truly wonderful event, where again we are fully supported with stalls and games including the school children themselves who organise and run their own enterprise stalls under the careful watch and guidance of their fabulous teachers. We have been very lucky that our teachers have got fully on board with us as a PTFA and support us with these enterprise events fast becoming a staple feature at our market and fayre. As with the market, we have our own stalls, games, cafe, and are also again very lucky to be supported by external stall holders who sell some truly beautiful items.

Our next main PTFA event is our Summer Gala. This is quite an event and one which we also start planning and organising from January each year. The event itself takes place at the end of June/beginning of July and we have all of the above but much much more! We have wonderful, entertaining arena acts, last we had an amazing Cosmodome experience and we are always looking to create a bigger and better event which thanks to the enthusiasm of our PTFA team we have so far managed to successfully do each year!

In and amongst all of the above, there are many other fundraising events, some of which the PTFA support in one capacity or another and some which are run by the teachers within school, for example the fantastic Chillax events, the Year 5/6 Disco and non-uniform days.

How can you help?

We are a small group of people but it's quality that counts right! Well, that may be true to some extent but we are always looking for new members and will truly welcome you, and any contribution you can make, with open arms. Whether that be, coming along to our meetings and just listening/joining in with our discussions; sending ideas to us via email/Facebook page etc (see below), volunteering at the events themselves or by coming along to enjoy them! We welcome and encourage you in any capacity that you can offer.
