Our School
Welcome to Westerton Primary Academy. We are a large three form entry school with around 700 pupils on roll, including a 52 place nursery.
Children with special educational needs are well catered for and OFSTED considered this to be a real strength in the school. We have an excellent staff team who work very closely to provide crucial learning experiences within and beyond the school curriculum.
There is a well established programme of extra-curricular provision including clubs, events or sporting activities outside of school hours. Personal development is a high priority for the school in order to promote pupils who are effective citizens within our community and beyond.
Visiting tutors provide instrumental tuition and there are established orchestras, woodwind, strings and brass groups and choirs. Music is a very strong feature in the school.
Our pupil voice groups including School Council, Learning Council and Preventative Council play vital roles within the school, supporting with decision making and ensuring all members of the school community adhere to our school values 'The Six C's'. A strong sense of partnership exists between staff, governors and parents.
We want everyone at Westerton to feel proud of our school and to give that little bit extra to make it one of the very best schools in the country. It’s a great place to work and we can promise new staff excellent opportunities when they join our friendly and supportive team.
