The School Day
The school is divided into year groups and each is the educational responsibility of three or more teachers plus, especially at infant level, learning support assistants. There are usually about 30 pupils per class; our infant classes have no more than 30 pupils. We may review classes at the end of the year and and some reshuffling may take place to maintain balance across the year groups.
Phase leaders have an overview and responsibility for the day to day running of the year groups as follows:
Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception)
Lower School (Years 1, 2 and 3)
Upper School (Years 4, 5 and 6)
SCHOOL SESSION TIMES
8.30 am - Voluntary staff open the playground gates and monitor the playground, when possible, for the children who arrive early. Our aim is to ease the community congestion so that over 700 children do not all arrive at the same official starting time.
